Moving into a new home is a stressful and exciting time, and you want to give a housewarming gift that celebrates the change but doesn’t add more stress. Luckily, I have some ideas for plants and flowers that fit both criteria.
Air plants
Air plants are easy to care for and can thrive in spaces that don’t have much light. They look interesting and, because they don’t need soil, you can give them as gifts in all kinds of interesting containers; like our Glass Hanging Terrarium. They signify freedom and creativity, so consider them for your friends who love to travel.
Tulips
Tulips are one of the world’s most popular flower for a reason – they are beautiful, colourful, and somehow look both simple and sophisticated. If you give the gift of tulips for someone’s housewarming, you signify a fresh beginning in their new home. Yellow tulips represent that the new house will be sunny and happy. Arrange the tulips in a vase so they don’t have to hunt through boxes to find something to put your gift in!
Aloe Vera
Aloe is a great gift for someone who bought a place with plenty of bright light. Not only is aloe easy to care for (as long as it has enough light), but it also doubles as first aid for burns and skin irritation. Aloe vera plants are also thought to bring luck and spirituality to the house.
Lilies
Whether you go with a plant, like a Peace Lily (easy to care for, and helps purify the air!) or a lovely bouquet like this bright, happy bouquet, lilies are a great housewarming flower. They signify cheerfulness and happiness, making them perfect for a new home. Plus, several varieties emit a lovely floral fragrance which will make the space even more inviting.
Orchids
Orchids are a perfect housewarming gift – they are stunning to look at, tend to go with any décor, and despite their reputation for being hard to keep alive, are easy to care for. They represent love, luxury, beauty, and strength, making them a great gift for a new home. They even come in adorable mini-sizes!
